You kindly answered a question I asked on the Microsoft
Helpline.

I had already found the site you pointed me towards which
is where I learned about the Hotfix 308402 which I need.
However, the advice on this page just tells me to contact
Microsoft Product Support Services and although I have
tried, I just get a dead end.

Can you help please.

Call PSS, and ask for the hotfix specified by its kb number.
You won't be charged because the issue and fix described by the kb article
fixes your problem.
