Million Pounds - What Million Pounds ?

MILLION? WHAT MILLION, SAYS PUNTER!

THE 'Mystery punter' who has become Britain's first betting shop millionaire was entirely oblivious to the fact when he walked into a William Hill shop on Saturday morning to ask staff whether there was anything to come on his bet.
'The man turned up in another one of our Yorkshire branches in Bedale, some fifteen miles from Thirsk where he placed his original 50p wager on Friday' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
'He placed five more 50p bets for Saturday's racing, then asked staff to check his betting slip from the day before. When they told him he had one million pounds to come but would have to collect it from the Thirsk shop he went visibly pale before saying that he would have to go and tell his wife.'

and this is true :)

So my 50p each way on the National is not such a small bet after all.

Not at all imagine IF you did a 25p reverse forcast=50p and you had a 100/1 1st and a 50/1 2nd it would pay you Approx £12.000
