I have a cable connection for the internet, every time I bring my computer
out of hibernation my internet connection is lost. I either have to restart
the computer or unplug the cable modem and plug it back in. This has just
started, any help or suggestion appreciated.

Hey Dan,

I had the same problem (have ComCast cable modem) and I found that the
easiest way to fix this is to click Start -> Run and then type cmd. This
opens a dos type window. Then type in 'ipconfig /release' and then enter.
Then type in 'ipconfig /renew' and press enter. At this point, you should
be working.

The reason that this happens (at least in my case) is that the 'lease' of
the dynamic ip address has expired and the system was asleep (hibernating)
and couldn't be updated.

Hope this helps...

Dick
