Here's what I had to do

1. Delete the two files Bill Sanderson recommended:

ThreatAuditScanData
ThreatAuditThreatData

2. Downloaded updates to get 5711 definitions

3. However, MSAS loaded very slowly and did not scan the
registry

4. So went to Control Panel and updated MSAS

5. Everything worked perfectly:

MSAS loaded nicely
Scan included the registry
No false positive on unins000.exe
