Something is sporadically wiping out my WPA.DBL file.
I am not adding any new hardware etc. to my computer.
Usually about once a month something happens to the file
and I wind up in activation hell.

The only way I can recover is to boot up with a Win ME
boot disk and copy a floppy backup copy of the file to
C:\windows\system32 which get me up again.

Is this a problem anyone else has had? I run several AV
program as well as SPYBOT and AD-AWARE and
they do not find any problems.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Richard

This article may help. Retry the resolutions. It maybe the backed up file -
wpa.bak - is corrupt and is causing problems.

If not, try a surface scan of your hard drive. The file(s) could be writing
into a bad sector. Although I think it probably is the first problem.

Thanks for the reply. Where online can I get the above article?
There is not a wpa.bak file. I did a surface scan and there is no
problem.
