HELP!! - windows XP Pro.

I downloaded windows xp on an IBM Aptiva. When it finished
downloading & shut down & came back on, it booted up like
normal and then went to a fuzzy screen with lines (
nothing legible). How do I uninstall it or get it back to
normal when I cant read the screen? Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your video card it not seated correctly. I would shut down and
reseat it.

Why don't you try going into Safe Mode by pressing the F8 key on startup and
from the menu choosing Safe Mode. This really sounds like a video card or
Video driver problem. If you can successfully boot into Safe Mode then
change the display settings and try restarting with the normal boot mode
(i.e. without using the F8 key on boot).
