help stop banners / popups / spyware !

How do i get rid of the 'related information' banner at the bottom of some
webpages, it seems to be random and not just on certain websites. Also the
little pop up banner for those annoying 'your system seems to be infected,
please use xxxx brand spy remover'.

I have AdAware SE and SpyBot, neither of which seem to destroy whatever it
is that's doing this to my PC. I have ZoneAlarm PRO as anti-virus, but
whatever it is, is bypassing all of these programs !.

Also, sometimes when i open a web page (usually the ALDI website !) i get
the small box DOS prompt 'Installing C:/inst.exe' and it puts this file in
my C:/ folder (which i promptly delete !) and also a 124675.exe icon, which
is of a woman!, appears, which i also delete.

What is going on here, and what can i do to stop it, since the software i
have at the moment doesn't seem to be doing anything to stop this happening
and i don't want to have to pay for other software when i have payed for
ZAPro !.

Andy,
Are you postive that Zone Alarm Pro is anti-virus? I used Zone alarm
Pro but it did not have anti-vurus. You have to upgrade to Zone Alarm Suite
for the anti-virus feature. at least that was the case when I had Pro a short
time back. Best of luck.

First make sure you have Service Pack 2 installed:
To check click start and teh nrun. Type in winver and click ok.
You should see the version information and it should have Service Pack 2 at
the end.
If not download and install.

Then install the Microsoft Spyware Remover:

Also, consider SpywareBlaster which is excellent to help prevent future
baddies from getting on your computer.

Yeah, sorry it is the Suite version, and does have AV !
