In my W2K pro help, the embedded links do not work
properly. Very often, i.e., almost always, after clicking
on a link I am getting an error message looking like this:

Line: varies
Char: 9
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
code: 0

For instance, most of the entries in the glossary are of
no use as the above error occurs.

Does anybody know how to fix it? I am fighting a network
printer problem and this doesn't help at all.

Have a look at the item "Script Error when trying to load help files",
posted in this NG only a few days ago.

Exuse me my ignorance: could you please help me with how
to find it? If I copy "Script Error when trying to load
help files" to the subject line of the search, it comes
with a huge number of hits, matching any word in the
string. Is there a way of searching for a string as a
whole?

I don't know what newsgroup tool you use - you will have to
spend some time becoming familiar with it so that you can
search for past posts.

The item I referred to said this:

"Try these commands from a Command Prompt:

regsvr32 /u %SystemRoot%\system32\hhctrl.ocx
regsvr32 %SystemRoot%\system32\hhctrl.ocx

Alternatively: Right-click & install C:\WINNT\inf\tshoot.inf"

Thank you again. I do not have any special tool installed.
I am using my IE 5.50 and open the Community Newsgroups
from there. I will try to follow on your suggestion in a
moment.

Thank you, it worked from the Command Prompt.

I do not have the file tshoot.inf; I do not have it on the
whole C:\. I do not have C:\WINNT\inf folder as well.

Should I worry?

Don't worry about the absence of this file.
