I am currently trying to troubleshoot a friends laptop.
Basically,becuase he knew no better,he allowed in on the
net,unprotected and his kids were installing all sorts of
rubbish,Kazza'ing etc.
Having installed NIS it detected a raft of virus like activity and
"fixed " them
I now have a problem in that certain items will not run,like outlook
express,regedit etc.
I think this might be due to incomplete removal of a virus

i can access the registry by running an external copy of regedit from
a pen drive.
I think there might be a global/system variable which needs to be
checked,corrected,,any clues please? I dont really want to do a full
reinstall..
