has closed connection to your computer



When I try to connect to a remote computer using Remote Assistance
I get the message "has closed connection to your computer". There
is no username, just that message exactly. The exact order of events is

- I get a request to connect through MSN Live Messenger which was
initiated at the remote computer.
- I accept the request
- The remote logon screen briefly flashes
- I am told that I am waiting for acceptance at the remote computer
- A message to accept does not appear on the remote computer
- I get the "has closed connection..." message a few seconds later

Strangely, the remote computer is able to connect and control my
local computer.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
