Hard Drive Problem after Defragging

I recently used the XP defrag utility on an internal HD which stores
only media files and following a restart XP sees it only as an
unformatted, empty drive.

Anyway to fix or retrieve the files

From a backup? When you run a defrag or any system level utility, and at
all times, you should have a full and complete backup of important
information.

Take a look at NTFS Partition Recovery 2.0.1.5 (15 day trial) or R-Studio.
A final option is to use a data recovery service such as www.ontrack.com
www.driversavers.com
www.seagatedatarecovery.com

Restore from your backup.

I would argue that a restorable backup should be considered mandatory
equipment when handling Windows.
