Group policy security?

This question relates to the Group policy feature and
using it to turn off services at teh user level.

What I want to do is have a policy that turns off services
like computer browser, messaging, and other services my
company does not use at teh user level. Turning off the
server service stops the hidden shares, so that would be
another one.

My question is, can group policy be made to do this? Is
there a KB article or "how to:" somewhere? Are there any
cons that I should be aware of before I do this? My
network is a MS reccomended textbook deployment (if there
is such a thing).

thanks in advance!

NEW GROUPS ARE AWESOME.

not sure what you are meaning by saying
"at the user level"

If you have a domain, group policy then can
manage service, both their startup settings, and
their access permissions.

However, this is a computer settings and is so
for all accounts that might log into the computer.

These are not available for enforcement in local
policy

yes, they are part of a domain, and that is what i am
aiming for (all users having these services disabled). So
the answer would be yes? This is where i would do this
(in GP?)
