$2 per WEEK? Here it costs about £30 to fill up the average engine - if you use your car every day that can be £30 per week

My car holds 60 litres of unleaded

Unleaded is 84.9p per litre @ Sainsburys i think

Fill up tank = 60 x 84.9 = £50.94 = $97.94 (!!)

60 / 4.54 (litres to gallons) = 13.48 gallon tank

42 miles to the gallon = 13.48 x 42 = 566 miles to empty

Cost per mile = 566 miles / 50.94 = 9p per mile GBP or 17 cents USA (though in real life i'll never get 566 to a tank)

And thats how expensive 'motion lotion' is over here!!

I would say at least 10-15 quid in a week
but it depends on how much I use the car

I did notice this, new cars are good with petrol the old ones use a lot of petrol hence they cost a lot more to run
and here in UK the petrol prices are WELL OUTA ORDER tooo expensive takes the mick

All of us here in the UK would gladly pay $3.00 (about £1.50 = £0.30 a litre) for a gallon for petrol ... that will work out cheaper than the $8.50 we pay now.

Alf, sorry but when the USA starts paying a realistic price for its fuel maybe the rest of us won't suffer so much. ;)

:p

To us Gas is expensive, to you gas is cheap here. weird how it works.... welll considering that your currency is roughly twice the worth of our currency. so if i were to go to the Uk i would feel like im being ripped of since i have to pay twice as more as i did in the states, the same goes for you except the oppisite.:)

You call that expensive? Sheesh.

It's expensive over here, no doubt about it, almost 4 quid a gallon - and around 67% of that is tax. Makes me ******* mad

Sorry mate, but you're all being spoilt in The States, petrol is dirt cheap over there by my reckoning.

Your recent fuel price increases have to do with your Goverment doing some shenanigans with their economics, I do believe it has something to do with witholding international aid, but I'm no economics guru and don't really understand.

It costs me £60.00 to fill my Merc up, it does about twenty miles to the gallon if I'm careful with the right foot. More on Motorway journeys. Expensive, yes, but I do like me motor :D

Two different Worlds, ehh?
there are a few things you should know, actually yall should know.
first things first i live in New Mexico, its hard to make a living out here and most of our population are living in poverty
second. thats just the price here, all over the US have much higher prices i belive, and since they have higher prices they get paid more.
Around here the average hourly pay is about $5-6.00 (2.5-3 pounds a hour):(
hopeful the hydrogen thing will kick into high gear soon!!
