Games return to desktop

Hope someone can point me in the right direction. Don't know what I changed
to cause this but...

When I run a full screen game like Need For Speed or Atlantis Evolution or
even JewelQuest...the game will load fine and I can play. Then all of a
sudden it will flip to the desktop, the game is still active - just
minimized. Sometimes the sound gets marbled when I return to the game. This
doesn't happen with less intense full screen games like Spyder solitare. It
didn't happen a month ago.

I've tried disabling Norton, SpySweeper, Firewall and everything else
running. Lapsed time doesn't seem to matter...it will just return to desktop
whenever!!

I'm no expert and have searched gaming forums with no solutions found.
Is this a display problem...a sound card problem...something running in the
background??

Help!
Thanks,
Gail

Have you got a System Restore point from a month ago? Could try going back.

You've not installed any keyboard software lately? Some software in that
category are known to have issues. It is most likely something running the
background taking focus for a while and therefore minimizing any full screen
applications.

Paul,

Thanks! I totally forgot about the System Restore checkpoints. I did revert
PC back and it seems to have helped. Now I can reload whatever pgms were
affected by the restore and find the which one caused the problem.

Thanks again!
