In an effort to free up disk space on my WIndows XP computer, I navigated
to:
SYSTEM control panel,
advanced tab,
performance settings,
advanced tab,
change virtual memory,
then I lowered the max size of the paging file, hit the SET button, and got
out of there, hitting OK all the way.
I restarted the PC and found that "my computer" claims my C drive has the
same amount of free space as before! BUT, when I go back to that "virtual
memory" dialog box, it claims that the "space available" has gone up!
Why the discrepancy? Why doesn't "my computer" see the change? What more
can I do? My impression is that windows XP is hogging space, somewhere.
