I'm thinking about re-organising the forums to more appropriate categories - does anyone have any suggestions on how they would like them? (or if they should stay the same).

Now as far as changes are concerned it really boils down to your own decision, I feel most of the categories and sections are catered to one way or another. However, some rearranging can help.

At present we have following categories

PC Review
Hardware
Software
Computing

You could consider changing it to something like

The Forum
-Announcements
-Web News
-Article Discussions

Hardware
-General
-Support
-Overclocking
-Modding
-Retailers

Software
-General
-Support
-Downloads
-Webmaster/Programming

General
The rest of the sections come in this category.

Just my suggestion and I also look forward to what others have to say.

Sorry - when I said re-organise I meant perhaps the addition of some forums, i.e. Adding "For/Sale Trade" under general, or adding "Graphics Cards, CPUS, etc..." under hardware :)

Ian, I know you said you were only looking for some additional categories, but the more sub-categories you add, the more grey areas you create. For example, an overclocker might be tweaking their CPU and Vid...where would they post a request for support about how to do this? Support, Overclocking, Graphics, or CPU? It becomes more difficult to chose. What about actually combining and reducing the categories, e.g:

Moderators' Only...
1. Notices/Announcements/Site News...(not new products)

General...
2. Hey look what I just saw!: Flag up new PC kit/products

3. General Discussion/Say Hello/Rants/Flames/Wierd Shit

4. Trading Area: Buy and sell stuff: (Clear rules needed)

Help, Advice and Support...
5. Hardware: Buying/Building/Upgrading

6. Software: Buying/Bugs/OS/BIOS/Programs/Games

7. Specialist: Modding/Overclocking

8. Specialist: Electronics/Audio/Digital Photography

...you could even combine 7 and 8 to create a single 'specialist' category...well, I gues you could play around with these forever...but anyway, that's my two-penneth:)

I don't think the forums are generating enough traffic right now to justify adding more forums.

Edit: Yay! 400th post. ;)

Yep, I came here to look and learn i.e I have a question but I cannot for the life of me find out where I can post a new thread. Wehn I first came to the site, the option was available but since I registered it is not.

If you are interested and can help then my question is: I have 1GB of RAM. The properties on my PC show this however, when my PC boots, it only displays 256k. Why might this be?

I have AMD 3000, SERIAL ATA150 via RIAD

Yep Ian.. if you Add too much i think that it may get complicated... and things lost..

i would wait until demand requires another section for posting....

i think its quite good the way it is :)
