Font distortion

Installed automatic MS update this AM and on Restart the
size and appearance of fonts and icons changed. The large
size was remedied by increasing the display range. The
fonts, however, remain difficult to read. The fonts
contain heavy highlights mixed with very lightlines.

Can anyone offer a suggested cure?

If it was not a Critical Update, you can do a System Restore.
