I have tried every tweak in the book..Kelly..Doug Knox, etc., but file

Thanks to anyone who can tell me the magic tweak.

Open Windows Explorer, View, select "Details".
While Windows Explorer is still open, go to Tools, Folder Options, View &
click on "Apply to all folders"

I thank you all for your replies, but please be aware that I have tried
all of the suggestions and many beyond, numerous times, to no avail.
Has to be something other than the obvious.

Thanks again....

I've tried this myself in every way imagineable. This feature used to, but doesn't seem to be working any longer.

Thanks, dev.)

Windows remembers 400 folder settings. When that number is reached some
settings aren't retained any longer. You can change this to 8000 by adding
this edit to the registry.

Run this edit, then reset your preferred folder options:

Increase Folder View Options Limit: (Line 2)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

I've done every one of these things. As a matter of fact Kelly's has now set the limit up to 8000

All Kelly registry edits have been made. The system has been rebooted and tests made with only one copy o
Windows Explorer running. I've done every one of the things that have been recommend and the functions stil
fails.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I found it. Unchecking - "Remember each folders viewsettings", then setting the current directory to details, and saying, Apply to all folders - Takes care of this. I remember this now, the "Remember each folders viewsettings", will drive you crazy.
