file transfer blues

I successfully upgraded to Windows XP Pro. I used the fi;e makler to make a
setttings folder which as recorded on cd. Now the transfer wizard doe not
reconize the file. I receive:

"The location that you specified does not contain stored information. Please
type a valid folder path into the edit box.

If you entered a path to a folder on a removable disk. the disk must be in
the drive."

I tried typing the exact address E:\della settings\USMT2.UNC\IMG0001.DAT

But no luck. The file is about 8mg so I know it's there. Ideas? Plase help.

Try moving the folder to your hard drive.
Right click on the files and remove the Read Only attribute.
Try the transfer wizard again.
 
That didn't help. The folder would not keep the change.

My solution? Make another folder of file settings using the newly installed
windows xp pro. Then cut/paste the dat and status files from the original
folder into the new folder. Use the wizard again and say this is the new
computer. It worked!
