I successfully upgraded from Home Edition to XP Pro using a bootable CD. I
saved the settings using the file transfer wizard on a DVD. I said this was
the "old" computer. The folder contains about 8mg. However, when I open the
file transfer wizard as the "new" computer and browse to my file on the DVD I
get "The location that you specified does not contain stored information.
Please type a valid folder path into the edit box.

If you entered a path to a folder on a removable disk. the disk must be in
the drive."

I even tried the following: E:\settings\USMT2.UNC\IMG00001.DAT

Transferring the folder to my C drive ddin't help either.

Ideas? Please help. I've read the posts and tried MS XP FAQs. Thanks!!!

When you exported the profile, what service pack was the XP Home edition?
And what is the service pack level now?

It sounds to me as if you used one of the packet writing programs, like
Direct CD or InCD, to burn to the DVD. You will need to install the
same program on the new machine to be able to read it. XP can read
*some* UDF disks made in this way natively, but by no means all

Nope. This was a standard DVD/CD proram (Sonic Record Now!) that you can use
to maek data discs. SOLUTION: Use the wizard to make another settings file,
stating the pc with xp pro is the old pc. Cut the old dat and status files
and paste them into the new folder. Rerun the wizard and say this is the
"new" pc. Select the folder.
Thanks for your help!
