File structure errors (OBJECTS.MAP, INDEX.MAP)

Carl

I ran Norton Disk Doctor on my PC (866 MHz P3, FAT32,
upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP Home). Norton
reports file structure errors as follows:

\\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wbem\REPOSITORY\FS\OBJECTS.MAP first
allocation unit is not valid....

I get the same error for the INDEX.MAP file at the same
path.

I told Norton to run a fix at next power up, but when I
re-scan for errors, the errors are still there. This
seems to be preventing me from loading new software and
seems to cause the PC to lock up while there is a CD in
the drive.

Symantec's web site is of no help. Any ideas of where to
turn or what to do to correct this? By the way, I
recently removed the BugBear.B virus from this PC using a
tool from Symantec.
