External USB HD problems

Hi,

I have XP Pro and using a MSHOME LAN.

I can access all the other boxes and their HD's that I have shared
however I cannot access this external USB HD.

I have shared it with a name, however it has also named itself $L.

I tried to change the permissions in case this was the problem, but it
says they have been allotted by Admin and cannot be changed.

Short answer: Try sharing out a folder on that hard drive.

Long answer: Those administrative shares are automatically created. If you
really wanted to use them, you can mount them with a "net use" command.
However, it's just easier to share out a folder.
