Hi

I have a problem in that my IE 6 browswer closes down after a while

There does not seem to be a specific time interval for this to happen. However it has only started happening over the past few days. In installed some 'seeker' software as my daughter wanted to try and find the lyrics / audio for an old ABA song. It appeared to install some favorites Adult / Travel / General etc. It also installed some adware etc. I seem to have tracked down all of te junk that the seeker program installed using a combination of Lavasofts Adware 6 and deleting the folders within program files and also removing the registry entries for those folders

I no longer have the adult sites the additional seeker bar with IE 6 etc. All seems clear

I have my AV up to date McAfee, I have my Adware 6 up to date, everything seems to be fine except that the all instances of the IE browser shutdown periodically

While I am here, I do have a funny with my dialup connection. I have ISDN here in Ireland and when I dial up, sometimes the connection seemes to hang. I am then unable to connect to the ISP without rebooting the PC. When I try and shutdown the PC normally, it comes up with an Eircom 150 (my ISP) process still running, which I end task, then the shutdown seems to hang totally. I have to power off the PC at the power button

Is there anyone out there with any ideas as to what I can do

Many thanks in advance

Neil

Get the latest version and run them again.

Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

Get this removal tool also.
