If you can't run any .exe files, try the following: 1) copy regedit.exe to regedit1.com and run that program 2) go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command and make sure it reads "%1" %* exactly like that with the double-quotes included. These problems happen when your AV program removes the bug, but doesn't correct the shell open command.
