Excel crash when start up from a workbook

I have a problem with a workbook with several macros that I created:

When I open the file in question without having started up Exce
beforehand, excel opens but then I get an error:
access violation 0xC0000005.

However if Excel is already open when I open the file this problem doe
not occur.

The problem appears when running on a Windows 2000 machine but not o
an XP machine.

Any ideas on what to look for would be really appreciated. I'm fairl
convinced I've done something wrong in the macros but don't understan
why a problem would manifest itself like this.

Cheers,

Ben

Hi Ben,
When I open the file in question ...

try to "Open and Repair" the file with XL 2002 or 2003 (File / Open / select
Open and Repair instead of just Open). This is always worth a try.
