Error Message

I keep getting this message on the Welcome Screen when I first turn on my
computer: C:\ProgramFiles\GENERIC\Power4Gear\CFG3.BLC with the message:
Open Power policy file error! Load default setting error!

Can anyone tell me what this is and how to correct it? Thanks so much.

If I go into "My Computer" and open "Local Disk C" then click on "Program
Files", there is a folder called "Generic". If I open that folder, there is
where I find "PowerGear4". Clicking on that I can find CFG3.BLC but that is
as far as I know to go. I can't tell what is wrong, and why I keep getting
the error message.

Thanks again for any help.

does power4..... have an exe file?
do you know what power4...... is?
Look in Start>All Programs.
is there a Generic or Power4.... folder/icon?
run the application.

do yuo have an Asus computer or motherboard?
Something to do with power management.

have you done anything related to this?

Yes, I do have an ASUS laptop. And there is no Generic or Power4 folder/icon
in the Start/Program menu. Unfortunately I do not know what Power4 is, that
is why I don't understand what the error message is about. I haven't done
anything related to the power management. I don't know if this has anything
to do with it, but I always run it off of AC power--have never used the
battery.

This is all new to me, so thanks for your patience.

It has several hits related to Asus computers!
Maybe you should dbl check with Asus tech support
www.asus.com
or check your computer literature.
