email accounts

I have 2 separate email accounts, one for me and the other for my wife. We
dont have nor want to log on to window's to 2 different desktops. When we
open our separate email accounts and compose a email why doesnt outlook 2003
make that account the default user at that time why does my wife have to
click on accounts then click on her account before sending her emails. She
forgets half of the time and it sends with my account in the heading of the
email.

And how would Outlook know who of you is behind the computer?
You can create separate mail profiles in Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show
Profiles...
