Easiest way to capture ausio tape to hard disk?

After clicking on "Stop Narration" you should be presented with a save
dialog box, to save it in .wma format....

Assuming Windows Movie Maker 2.....

Tools > Narrate Timeline ...
Select your input source from the "Audio Input Source" dropdown box eg "Line
In"
Click on "Start Narration"
Click on "Stop Narration" when finished
Give it a name in the file save dialog box

Actually your thread also reminded me that I still have loads of old songs
to transfer over from audio cassette, so thanks for that too.
