Hi,
I am having a problem with my DVD+RW drive. The drive
will no longer pick up DVD+RW's but has no problem
picking up any other type of disc (DVD+R, CD-R etc). This
has only happened recently and the drive has picked up
and written to these discs before. I have had the drive
replaced and the new one has the same problem, so it
isn't the drive. Within the event viewer I have this
error: The device, \Device\CdRom1, has a bad block.
Any idea's would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Best Regards,
Ashley.

Since the problem repeats after replacing the DVD drive,
check the cabling from the DVD drive to the connection on
the motherboard. Verify that the motherboard controller is
good and the proper drivers have been installed for it.
Also double-check the Master/Slave/CS jumpering for the
DVD drive and any other drive that is connected to the same
chain.
