DvD Drive does not read cdr's

Hi every1
I running windows xp home edition, the problem is that my Dvd drive does not read any type of discs except for DVD's. But my CD-RW drive reads disks like games, so in order for me to install anything i've to do it through my CD-RW drive. Could any1 plz solve this annoying PROBLEM. Thanks in advance :) P.S I'm using Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-117.

Could it be that your DVD burner just doesn't support CD's? Check your documentation that came with burner or computer. I know that mine does not.
