Dual homed DC´s

Hi!

One Active directory domain.
two subnets, subnet A and subnet B.
Some servers like domain controllers ( and exchange2003) should be seen in
both subnets.

If I build DC's with two network cards, one connected to subnet A and second
to subnet B, is it possible to build one domain but still separate
workstations in these two subnets.

Any issues with dual homed w2003 DC servers?

You can configure clients within a single domain that spans any number of
subnets - your logical and physical structure do not need to be identical in
that regard.

As far as issues with dual-homed 2003 servers, make sure that your DNS
records are set up correctly for each IP address. You should also consider
setting up IP/IPSec filtering to control what types of traffic can be routed
to and from the server.

If your intention is to use the server itself as a router between these two
subnets, use this KB article as a starting point:

I would go even further than Laura and say avoid using a DC (or an
Exchange server) as a router if at all possible. There are too many problems
which can arise. And a DC has plenty to do already without adding routing to
it. Use a hardware router or a member server (even a workstation) rather
than a DC.
