I had windows xp home installed on my hard drive and one
day it just stoped working so i re-installed xp but onthe
same partition and under the name "windows1"...this
worked for awhile untill it stoped working again. i
installed a third windows "windows2" on the same
partition. My question is is there any way to remove the
other two damaged windows xp's? when i start up it goes
into a dual-boot and i can see that these operating
systems are still there but do not work.....any advice or
help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

since MS does not support 2 OS on a single partition, my
best suggestion would be a clean install of xp Re-
partition\format\install

or you could delete the unused "windows" folders from the
drive, then edit the boot.ini to remove the entries from
startup, and hope for the best. be sure you delete the
right ones.

You say you have installed this operating system three
times, before you could get one to continue working??
Was there some type of error message? some type of symptom
? lets see if we can cure the problem, else it will just
keep happening!

It's never a good idea to do another seperate install of
windows in the same partition with a previous install!
it's best to format and install clean!
