Drive Image 2002 Usage????

Has anyone ever use Drive Image 2002 with good complete recovery? On two
occasions, the recovery failed and I was very disappointed with its
performance.
Being that today's drives are so inexpensive, would it be easier and more
reliable to buy an additional hard drive clone your C: drive?

I still use it very frequently. I use the DOS mode boot on a
bootable CD-R I created. Works fine. I'm not a fan of the
newer "Hot Imaging" or V2i technology found in DImage 7
& the re-branded Ghost 9.0.

As to hard drive image stores, it's fine as a temporary method.
But because you're using a magnetic media it's still susceptible
to crashes and corruption. Best to burn your Image set to a CD
or DVD or some kind of rotation or regular schedule.

With any Imaging software - Always opt to Verify your image
set.

I have used Drive Image 2002, installed on a DOS partition, to image and
recover both Windows 2000 and Windows XP (which are on separate partitions
on the same computer). The images are stored on a separate hard drive I
maintain just for image files.

I recently started using Ghost 9.0 to save images to an external hard drive,
which is turned off except for the create/recover process. The images are
safe from attack or corruption during normal computer use.

Yes, I'm using drive image 2002. I have never had any problem with
recovering using it.

Lately I've been using Drive Image 7 for WinXP since it is much faster
creating the images. Not any problems recovering with it either.
One item with Drive Image 7 - you may need to do the same as when installing
XP and provide the drivers for mass storage devices during the boot of the
Drive Image CD when restoring.

How does one access DOS and how did you create your DOS mode boot on a
bootable CD-R? Please be specific. Thanks
