DON'T HAVE AUTHORITY TO MAKE SYSTEM MODIFICATIONS

Trying to download yahoo messenger 6.0 and it says that i don't have the authority to make system modifications and to rerun installation from an adminstrators account??? I am the administrator account?? Any help Please!!
