Does Anyone know how to reinstall the "PNP Software Device Enumera

After a recent upgrade to XP sp2, I've lost the "PNP Software Device
Enuerator" from system devices and I think it is this that is causing my
sound card not to work.

Does anyone know how to re install this device ?

Check Windows Update to see if there is an updated driver available. If not,
check with the hardware vendor, they may offer an updated driver for SP2 on
their website or something. HTH ~David D

As a caveat to the last poster, never get drive updatea from the windows
update site. Always go to the device manufacturer's web site or the
vendor for your computer.

BTW, I don't have that service installed and my sound is fine. I don't
