Dialup connection

I always have to restart my computer before it will connect to the internet.
First time get the message "no dial tone" Restart and it will always
connect Have tried reloading the modem drivers but still the same. Any
ideas anyone please Keith

If the modem is not broken, then it is just not properly resetting after
a disconnect, or possible that the instructions were not explicitly
followed during the install. If the drivers must be installed BEFORE the
modem is installed, you will need to remove it from device manager and
pull it out of the computer and install it according to the instructions.

What instructions and since when are modem drivers installed before the
modem. Stop wasting people's time!!

I just guess you will have to learn about those "winmodems" the hard way
won't you!

Yes, I've installed many Winmodems by inserting the modem before installing
the driver. What is your point?

Sheesh! IF THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY "LOAD THE SOFTWARE, THEN INSERT THE
HARDWARE" there IS A REASON! What is it you are failing to understand?!?!
