Desktop shortcut

I want to put a shortcut to my DVD burner on the desktop. I go into My
Computer right click on the drive (in this case D) and am told that you
can't create a shortcut here but it will put one on the desktop - which it
does. The problem is, that when you click on the shortcut it tells me that
Windows is searching for D:\ , to locate the file yourself click Browse.
What is going on??? and how can I fix this annoying problem. Thanks in

You were right by going into My Computer--find the drive that you want on your desktop. Make sure "My Computer" isn't full screen & just drag the drive you want to the desktop--it automatically makes the shortcut for you.
