Desktop CD shortcut loses correct shortcut

I can find no report of this problem but when I create a shortcut on my
desktop to my CD reader and writer it appears ok
When I load a disc the icon changes to the discname as normal and opens ok
When I remove the disc and put another one in it does not recognise
where to go and opens a browse window
when I browse it finds disc
This happens on both my machines
Is this now normal and have I just missed something
