Desktop Alert for IMAP E-mail

J

Jordan

I recently found another topic like this one of mine that was published
back in 2004. I followed the instructions, but when I go to setup a
rule for the desktop alert in Outlook 2003, it still doesn't cooperate
with me and I do not get a desktop alert when I receive new mail.

Please, please, please!

I really want this to work! If someone can tell me how to get the
desktop alert to work for my IMAP account, I would greatly appreciate
it!!!

I don't believe rules work with other than Exchange or POP3 accounts.

What if I transfer with the "Data files" if you got to CONTROL
PANEL>>MAIL then DATA FILES.

Or how about this? Can I transfer my IMAP e-mail to the default
"personal folders" on MS Outlook? Or is there an easy, free, way I can
setup an exchange account but with my AOL-IMAP e-mail coming into that
exchange account and into "personal folders?"

YOu cannot use anything other than AOL's method for receiving AOL mail.
Since their mail is using IMAP, you cannot work around it. Using a hosted
Exchange server may solve your problem but can be costly. Google for hosted
exchange services.
