A few months ago, I must have clicked the wrong option.
When I am in Windows Explorer, select and delete multiple files, Explorer
has an internal competition between deleting the files and opening them with
the appropriate application. So deleting a mixture of data files created
with Word, Powerpoint and Excel, results in all these packages opening, then
loading up the files. The files then have to be closed at which point I can
start deleting them. I have just had to close 50 unhappy Notebook
applications which could not find the files because Explorer delete had got
to them first . But not before the order had gone out to open them.
How do I tell Explorer that delete means delete, not play time?
I run XP sp2
