Hi,

Using XP Pro Sp1 I'm, having a problem with folders that I deleted
reappearing from time to time. I know that XP will replace critical files
if they are deleted but I didn't know it would do this with everything. Can
someone tell me how to turn this off. The folders in question are on the
desktop and serve no purpose at this time. They were created to hold
picture files while I sorted them. Then I deleted the folders but they keep
coming back.

Thanks,
Bob

Access to pictures are stored in two locations:
C:\My Documents\My Pictures
C:\Documents and Settings\<your name>\My Documents\My Pictures
Both of these directories point to the same location of your pictures.
Deleting one of these directories will create a new directory each time you boot.
To get rid of the picture files you must delete the sub-directory in both places.
Deleting them in the primary directory C:\My Documents will delete them in both.
Also check the "All Users" and "Owner" directories for additional references to delete.
