I have downloaded extra themes from internet and have
acquired many screensavers that I do not want. How do I
delete these from properties, screensaver. This is where
I go to change the screensaver. I right click on desktop
and get this.
Thanks, Dorothy

Dorothy,
Open up control panel>Add/remove programs and un-install them. If that is
not an option, simply find the corresponding .scr files in the
C:\Windows\System32 directory and delete them.

I've had problems simply deleting *.scr files directly from the \system32
directory - they continue to be shown despite the fact that you deleted
them.

Go to windows\system32\dllcache, and remove from there first, then out of
system32 folder. Go back to desktop and refresh (F5). You offending screen
savers should then be gone.

If you can't see the dllcache folder, go to Tools - Folder Options - View -
and uncheck 'Hide protected operation system files'. Then the dllcache
folder will appear.

Good Luck.

Patrick,
This is only true for the screensavers that you get alongwith Windows XP.
The third-party screensavers do not place a copy of themselves in the
dllcache folder. The default screensaver, when deleted from the system32
folder, are promptly replaced by WFP from dllcache.

OP said that the screensavers that were downloaded from the internet are now
required to be deleted.
