Book1 is contained in the XLSTART folder. Problem is......I have TW of those folders. In two different locations. I had deleted it fro one folder, but not the other. Here are the locations where the XLSTART folder can be found. C:\Documents and Settings\*my name*\Applicatio Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART This is the correct folder to use. C:\Programs\Microsoft Office\Office10\XLSTART This ALSO had a Book1 in it. Book 1 was removed from both locations and now Excel opens properly. Hope this helps someone else [/QUOTE]
