This worked. I have automatically synchronize checked for "when I log on and
off my computer, but I do not have synchronize checked for "while my computer
is idle". In the Send/Receive Groups options, the "schedule an automatic
send/receive" is not checked under the "When Outlook is Offline" options.
Brad,
I was having a an issue similar to this and followed your instructions
below. It worked, but as I have worked with it I have found that it will
restore my customized Task views but not my customized Contact views. I can
change some of the Send and Receive setting and it will restore the Contact
views but not Task views. Somehow I am searching for a way to restore both
Task and Contact views. Any ideas?
This issue has not really been addressed by Microsoft. I contacted Microsoft
directly on this and their only remedy is to run a utility to clear ALL
custom settings in Outlook and rebuild them.
To do this, bring up a command line and type in " outlook / clearviews".
This will clear out all custom settings that you have throughout Outlook, so
be prepared to recreate what you already have in place.
The good news is that since I did this, I have not had a recurrance of the
issue.
Thanks for the reply, Brad! I will give this a try!
