copying games cds to blank cds using windows xp

Is this for back-up use? Why back-up a cd? Will the
original be damaged in use? It is very difficult to
damage/scratch these cd's. Is your dog chewing on cd's?

In other words the only reason to do this is priacy.
Which is illegal. If using it on two computers just
load it onto the two computers and keep original in safe
place. If both computers are going to use the same game
at same time and cd needs to be in the device you should
get a second cd game.

if like me he has a 6 year old pc game playing kiddo
then backing em up is a nescessity unless you
really enjoy buying the same game over and over because he has
destroyed the cd in one of countless imaginative ways

I have a 6 year old and I am more worried about the
"kiddo" damaging the "cd drive". Also have small group
of aol cd's that have taken a lot of abuse and still
show no damage. Even a fingernail can not scratch these.
Takes a lot of pressure to even bend one.
Cutting/drilling is possible to make tree ornament but
what is 6 year old doing with scissors OR a drill?
Heat? Possible burns to the child? Teeth can scratch it
but parent should be sitting next to the children when
playing. It's called "Quality time" with your "kiddo".
You do practice "quality time" with your "kiddo"?

How much would it cost to replace the "cd drive"? More
then price/time of a second cd game. But it looks like
a retracting "cup holder"!!!!!!

Copy to the disk , then copy to the cdr. I have no idea what type of
anticopying techniques the game manufactures use. Jym

use software such as clonecd, blindwrite or alcohol 120%
these will copy most if not all cds regardless of protection

Or a puppy who likes to chew on almost anything. Happily the 2 CDs this
puppy got hold of were "coasters".... music CDs burned at too high a speed
and full of glitches. Had they been important CDs we would have been in
deep doodoo. All CDs are now kept in a safe place out of reach of pets and
grandkids. :) We also made copies of more important CDs with W98SE and
EZ-CD creator with our older PC.
