Control Panel access

I'm using Win XP and I've previously
found the control panel just by clicking
start and seeing it in right column.

Now, I cannot find any access to the
control panel... no button or link
comes when opening Start.

Any ideas on how I can access control
panel or why the link has vanished from
Start?

Try this.

Right click Start, then properties, select the Advanced tab. Look at
the Control Panel entry under Start Menu Items and see if 'don't display
this item' happens to marked. If so, unmark it and mark 'display as
link.'

Whoops! I left something out. Right after selecting properties, select
Start Menu and then Customize.
