Component 'MSCOMM32.OCX" or one of its ....missing

Since installing a second copy of Windows XP-home, certain programs, even when fresh installed, won't run
I get this message: Component 'MSCOMM32.OCX" or one of its depencies not correctly registered: file is missing or invalid
I find the missing 3 comm*32.ocx files in the corrupt C:\ drive installation but not on the active H:\ OS drive
What do I have to do to get this corrected?
