Has anyone seen this problem? An example of the problem:

1) I open notepad and type 'test'
2) I hold down Ctrl+A to Select All
3) I hold down Ctrl+C to copy the selection
4) I hold down Ctrl+V to paste the clipboard contents
5) What gets pasted is 'testtest' instead of 'test'

What gives? This is XP SP1 with all of the security updates. Thanks

JoeBob, I had a similar variant on this:
I had to paste twice to clear my clipboard.
In any case, if you have a Restore Point from just before this annoying problem began, perform a System Restore to that point. Look up System Restore in Help & Support.

Turns out it was a virus causing it. Something like W32.Mytob.AV@mm. I got rid of the virus and the problem is now resolved. Thx
