'Click' sound on hyperlinks

Does anyone know how to turn off the 'clicking' sound when clicking a
hyperlink? It also happens when a new window opens within a website? Could
this possibly be a function of the website by the developers of that website?
I've had success by muting the master volume controls, but was hoping for
another way.

Go to the Control Panel and the Sounds icon. In there you will have options
to change or delete any sound associated with actions like "open a new
link".

The two sounds are Start Navigation and Complete Navigation.
