i want to change the language of my laptop. i have already
changed all the settings to english/UK (except the

You cannot change without actually installing an English version of XP, so
you'll need to purchase an actual English version and install it (or make it
a dual-boot if you want to keep the GErman version too).

If you're going to buy, do this:

You do not need to purchase a FULL version of XP (as some will tell you).
Save yourself a little
money, buy a retail version of Windows 98 English version (you can get
these from any
reputable reseller) for the most part, less than 50 USD, then buy a retail
UPGRADE English
version of the XP version you want, and use the 98 disk as a qualifying
upgrade path. The upgrade version is the same complete install as the full
version, except it requires proof of a previous qualifying operating system
or disk,
of which one is 98. In some cases you will save 100 USD.

Greetings --

You cannot upgrade or convert from one language version of the OS
to another, so you'll have to purchase and use the full version of
English WinXP to perform a clean installation.

You cant. You need to buy the version of XP that comes with the language
you want now.
